Employees of any organization feel good and get motivated when they are valued by their employers. Therefore, one way to make your team members feel good is to recognize them for their teamwork, years of service, milestones, and hard work.

Employee recognition initiatives provide a perfect avenue to ensure that your staff members are valued. This kind of employee appreciation can ultimately increase productivity in your company not to mention promoting work satisfaction. This is where employee recognition awards come in to help motivate and uplift company values.

Even though there are plenty of recognition awards for employees, there are a handful that won’t stretch your budget. Below are five ideas of recognition awards for employees that you can use for the upcoming award program:

1. Employees Work-Based Privileges and Incentives

Work-based privileges and incentives provide an easy and affordable way to recognize your employees. You may implement available work-based privileges to award top performers on their birthdays or when celebrating anniversaries of your company.

Your implementation can include the following:

  1. All your employees to telecommute: This type of work-based privilege can work well for team players in the computer department or those in sales positions.
  2. Provide a designated parking space within your work environment: If you have some private parking space, you may consider giving it to top-performing employees such as human resources managers. A closer parking space with a digital signage reading “reserved parking for employees” in your employee recognition program can create a huge difference during the award ceremony.
  3. Allow your employees to choose their day off: You can extend employee appreciation to team members who have been consistent in providing exceptional results. For instance, time off with reasonably good pay can always be a great incentive for your workers. Alternatively, longer lunch days can be a creative ward to recognize employee performance.

This type of employee recognition can motivate everyone to go the extra mile to achieve specific goals for your company.

2. Special Employee Recognition Awards

To uphold your company culture and promote employee recognition, you need to consider special recognition awards for employee rewards. This kind of recognition can be used as an employee of the month award or employee of the year award to motivate your workers.

Even for non-performing employees and their counterparts, a special gift can inspire them to work hard and achieve more. For example, point-based incentive programs motivate all employees to take their workmanship skills to the next levels. You can easily implement this type of performance award to make everyone productive.

3. Employees’ Involvement in All Key Projects

It is a common thing for everyone to feel included in every project within their place of work. The same case is true with your team members since they will feel honored being part of the solution or contributors of helpful ideas.

In this case, ensure that your employees are motivated by allowing top performers to take part in key projects. Doing so will most likely encourage a culture of recognition, good work, and employee retention.

4. Employee Social Recognition

In this time and era, social media platforms and selfies are at an all-time high. For that reason, you can use this modern technology to promote peer recognition among your team of workers. Social recognition is an initiative that is both free and effective especially now that the majority of people use different types of social media like LinkedIn.

You can achieve this feat by putting employees who are currently at the helm of their game on your company newsletter, company website, or engaging them in social media. This kind of employee engagement can create a positive impact across all team members.

Employee social recognition can create a huge difference in addition to making your employees feel proud of their achievements. Also, social recognition is an attainable goal that all employees strive to reach. This means better performances across all departments of your company.

5. Employees Get Together

Make everyone within your company or your organization be part of a team effort. Whether it is a company picnic or a friendly competition, bringing your workforce together can be the best way of recognizing top achievers. This team effort can easily translate into a teamwork award or leadership award to help encourage those underperforming to work harder.

You may go a little further to use employee award ideas like encouraging your team members to bring their dog to their place of work or adopting a relaxed dress code of their choice on specific workdays. These recognition award ideas need to focus mainly on making employees feel that they are getting back something special from their employers.

Trade shows are back with a bang after an extended gap during the pandemic. You may continue participating in virtual events, but reworking physical presence is essential. Failing to do it means you may lose the race as your competitors resume event promotions. But making a successful comeback is easier said than done in the new normal. Budgets are tight, and events have limited foot traffic. You have to make more with less and do everything to attract the attendees to your booth. Let us share the comeback tips you can rely on for creating a successful trade show presence in 2022.

Choose the right events

Thousands of trade shares are organized in the US every year, but you cannot expect to attend them all. Even as fewer trade shows happen in the new normal, you must be selective about your appearances. Start by filtering the relevant ones according to your niche. Pick some large ones, but do not forget the smaller events as they are often more targeted.  Also, be where your competitors are.

Rework your brand message

Before prepping for your first trade show in 2022, consider reworking your brand message. The audience expectations may have changed in post-pandemic times as they want to stick with human-centric, empathic brands. Your new message should resonate with these expectations. Get your branding team to work, and have the message ready on time so that you can create an impressive presence.

Invest in eye-catching exhibits

An engaging message is not the only element you require to grab the audience’s attention. You must invest in eye-catching Trade show exhibits to ensure that attendees read the message and connect with your brand. Design aesthetics, storyline, and readability of your exhibits are crucial for highlighting your message. Also, make sure they are located at strategic points to be visible. Apart from your booth, you must have enough exhibits around the event venue.

Create a compelling experience

Pandemic or no pandemic, a compelling experience for the attendees is the mainstay of trade show success. The entire time they spend on your booth should be memorable. Start by having impressive exhibits in place. Your staff should be presentable and well-trained to deliver excellent interactions. Gamification and giveaways make integral elements of a great experience for anyone who steps in.

Double up on event marketing

Building a robust trade show presence also requires a marketing plan. Ensure to include it in your comeback strategy in the new normal. You need not spend a fortune on showcasing your presence at the upcoming event. Take the easy and cost-effective route by leveraging social media platforms to reach a broader audience. Post interesting content that pulls the crowds. You can also invest effort in post-event marketing. It is even easier as you can request happy attendees to post their stories and tag your brand. A trade show comeback in 2022 need not be a daunting challenge, provided you plan strategically. Besides creating impressive exhibits, go the extra mile for the experience you deliver to every attendee who drops in.

Are you planning to host an event, a conference, meeting, or a lecture soon? The speaker system to use is one of the vital parts of any event planning. There are many factors to consider in hiring a PA system. Before you go for Surrey PA Hire, there are many considerations and factors to work on at the start.

It’s the primary responsibility of the event organizers to handle the PA system. Failure to make proper preparations of the system, then the purpose of the event will die. Here are the factors you need to consider when choosing the PA system to hire.

The required equipment

Knowing the equipment needed for the event becomes easy to select the best PA system to use. If you are holding a small event, you need standard equipment. They include speakers, mixers, and microphones. Big events like product launches and concerts need sophisticated audiovisual equipment. Examples include monitors, turntables, stage lights, and video recorders.

An outdoor event needs speakers with high wattage. It’s because the sound waves aren’t confined to a specific area. If you aren’t smart in the audiovisual industry, professionals will help. They will determine the best equipment for the event.

Convenience

You should always go for the equipment that is easy to install. For example, a powered speaker doesn’t need an amplifier, thus making it easy to install. Wireless speakers and microphones reduce the cable numbers that run through the stage.

Company terms and conditions

Your reputation and the reputation of the company are vital in event management. You need to research all the possible companies with positive online reviews. You need to understand the company rules and regulations.

Ask about the following:

The amount of deposit needed.

Transport services to and from the venue.

Will the country provide technicians to set the equipment?

Does the equipment have insurance cover in case of an accident like a fire?

The company policy on damages and repairs.

Preparation

If you will hold an outdoor event, be cautious of the weather. Storms will damage the PA sound system and may also cause the electrocution of the guests.

Set the PA system hours before the event starts. You will get ample time to test the system and verify that it’s working well. If you have many service providers, hold a meeting with their team leaders. Agree on how to collaborate to make the event successful. You will avoid much confusion during the event.

Costs

Make an inquiry from different companies about the cost of the system. You will be able to make an informed decision on the system to use. The cheapest system is not always the best. Go for value and professional service to make your money count. Read the contract well before you sign the deal with the company offering the PA system.

Advantages of hiring a PA system from a professional company

  • You will get professional-grade equipment that will do the right job that you want.
  • Professional companies provide experienced technicians who set up and operate the system. They will aid in making some important announcements if you run out of your ground personnel.
  • You will get an extensive choice of industry-standard microphones.
  • Professional companies provide safety and health-focused personnel.
  • Many professional companies offer public insurance cover.
  • You will get all electrical equipment tested and working well.

Conclusion

Professional companies provide PA system hire services for various regular and seasonal functions. You need to select the best company that will work tirelessly to give you what you want. They will help you make the day memorable. Use the above tips, and you will never regret the company you will choose.

Roshan Miranda explained their junk to value journey. We collect waste from your doorstep and pay you. We work with 6000 plus waste pickers. I gave up my job in the USA and ventured into this as it keeps me happy, he said. and added it gave him double happiness. The reason why we started this was to divert the recyclable waste that was ending up in landfills. We wanted to make people realise that there is a lot of value in waste and with this thought, we started this venture.

Prem Kumar of Marut Drones explained his journey. A team of talented and experienced individuals building end to end solutions to enable and scale drone operations effectively he said. He explained how they used drones to tackle the mosquito menace. It has helped achieve a huge drop in the incidence of malaria and dengue cases. Though we got independence 75 years back we don’t have freedom from the menace of mosquitoes. We have identified it as the main pain point and built technological solutions around it, he said. And added that their Marut Drones’ HepiCopters are being used for door delivery of medicine from the sky as well as temperature-controlled vaccines.

Now it’sSeedCopter is spraying seeds from the sky in inaccessible places deep inside the forests and hilly terrains. It hopes to plant 50 lakh seed balls this monsoon.

ShrutiRawal of Ewoke studio is passionate about driving sustainability in the apparel and textiles industry, and conscious consumption.

Founder of Ewoke – A design label for sustainable fashion brand, she is an alumnus of the National Institute of fashion technology. She started Ewoke with a vision to empower women with the clothes they wear while making a positive impact on society and the environment. Shruti shared her journey. Being an eco-conscious person, I always thought about the fashion industry which used to contribute 10% of global carbon emissions.

I always thought of providing an alternative. That ultimately led to the birth of Ewoke. I started Ewoke with a clear mission to curb climate change. All our fabrics are biodegradable and recycled, with a minimal carbon footprint like hemp. We source our trims from wood and shell. The main reason behind this is to provide sustainable clothing which is the new trend, she added.

We put sustainability into practice way back in 2013 says Rashi Agrawal, Director at Banyan Nation. It is India’s first vertically integrated plastics recycling company that uses data intelligence to integrate a largely informal supply chain. She gave an example of how Unilever was making good progress towards a waste-free world. It significantly stepped up its use of recycled plastic. And how few brands have been using bottles made out of recycled plastics. Surf excel used 50% of its bottles made from recycled plastic.

Rashi left a good job in the USA to start this venture

Water Warrior Kalpana Ramesh explained her journey and how she has been impacting society. My dream is to see water tanker free homes. We should have self-sufficiency in water. Kalpana Ramesh took over the Prime Minister’s Twitter handle on the eve of women’s day in the past and gave a call to the public to become water warriors.

Sikander Reddy Thandra of Coral Innovation explained that they have built a mobile app-based platform making meter reading & billing simple and foolproof for Utilities and Consumers. Our services help utilities to eliminate the manual punching in meter reading and drastically reduce the time taken for the monthly billing cycle at a much lower cost than the presently incurred cost. Ours is an interesting self meter reading app. It also gives insights into energy consumption, he explained.

Rajeev YSR, Vice President of Eto Motors said the most polluted cities in the world are in India. We are India’s no. 1 EMaaS (Electric Mobility as a Service) company. We focus on the large-scale deployment of multi-brand electric fleets for cleaner cities. We develop and deploy a range of clean mobility services that are sustainable.

We are looking forward to revolutionizing the electric mobility story not only in 100 key cities of India but also on the international roads. We deploy electric vehicles all across the country and we own and operate the fleet with an aim to better the livelihoods of drivers. With Shared Mobility, we are already seeing a lot of people moving from vehicle ownership model to vehicle access model, he added. He thanked the Government of Telangana for creating an Ecosystem for Electronic Vehicles.

Dr S. Shalini Sharma of Sanshodhan said that they enable corporates in many cities and societies across Hyderabad to identify and directly transfer their e-waste to government-authorised, technically competent recyclers. India generates more than two million tonnes of e-waste annually. It also imports a significant amount from developed countries. You can get rid of old electronics sustainably in association with us, she said.

Uday of D’Cal Hard Water Softner explained how their invention (device) turns hard water soft for one-tenth the price. It is a hassle-free process as the installation doesn’t require any pipes, plumber or electricity. All a user has to do is drop the bottle-shaped device in the water tank. The product has received an overwhelming response and they are exporting to the USA also.

Srikanth of HALA Mobility explained that it is India’s first multi-modal ride-sharing platform. Using the app, one can book a vehicle of choice in 3 clicks.

Ms. VijayadurgaKoppisetti founder of Architude said her infra-tech startup leverages tech to provide green building solutions to safeguard the environment. Climate change demands that the building industry adopt greener and sustainable solutions, an architect VijayadurgaKoppisetti explained.

She said greener solutions are not only important to safeguard the environment but also the health and wellbeing of the occupant. Every year, four million deaths can be attributed to illness from household air pollution, she added.  All the 11 startups in the sustainable space expressed their happiness over the way the government of Telangana has been helping them by creating conducive ecosystems for them to flourish.

The world’s largest Sustainability Summit, ‘TiE Sustainability Summit 2021(TSS- 2021) begins today. Though it is a virtual summit, the inauguration of the event was held in person at HICC on Monday 4th October, 2021 morning. The rest of the sessions will be held virtually until 6th October, 2021.

As of the inaugural time it had received a record number of 40,000 registrations from social enterprises across 55 countries and 5 continents. It is being hosted by TiE Hyderabad, the most recognized chapter worldwide.

Over the three days, it will feature 225 speakers, 65 sessions over six tracks and 200 investors. With these magic numbers, it makes it the largest ever TiE event, the largest entrepreneurship conference, and the largest ever gathering of social enterprises in the world. This is indeed the greatest platform for entrepreneurs. It is the platform where entrepreneurs meet sustainability.

H.E. Dr. Claudio Ansorena, Ambassador, Republic of Costa Rica; Mrs. RonyYedidiaClein, Deputy Chief of Mission of Israel;  Ms. VeredMivtzari, EM Director, Startup Nation Central (SNC), Israel; Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary of Industries & Commerce (I&C) and IT, Govt of TS graced as chief guests.   Shri Gautam Adani, Chairman, Adani Group addressed virtually.  Ms. Nikki Haley, Former US Ambassador to the UN give a video address

Mr. Manohar Reddy, Chair – TSS 2021, and President TiE Hyderabad and CEO FeujiInc; Mr. Mahavir Sharma, Past Chair (2020), TiE Global and Co-Founder, Rajasthan Angels;  Mr. Suresh Raju, Conference Co-Chair TSS2021, VP – TiE Hyd, MD Golden Hills Capital welcomed the gathering.

Addressing the gathering Mr. Jayesh Ranjan said, the Telangana state, just being 7 years old, demonstrated in umpteen domains how sustainability can be achieved. He has listed out various measures and initiatives taken up by the state since its formation. From the days of drought prone to neglected agriculture to outbound migrations to depleting forests, diminishing groundwater levels, power holidays, the state has been doing very well on many fronts that is because of a clear vision of sustainable Telangana.

The official highlighted the government’s ambitious programs such as haritha haram in greening the state and Mission Kakatiya reviving 47000 lakes in the state. He also highlighted Telangana’s performance in the generation of renewable sources of energy, electric mobility by introducing a clear cut policy etc. All these decisions were made at foundation levels keeping principles of sustainability in mind. The state is futuristic in environmental management. That is the reason why the state could attract whose-is-who of the world to invest in the state.

Speaking further Mr. Jayesh added that Costa Rica and Israel, the partner countries of TiE Sustainability Summit, exemplified the best of Sustainable living. Costa Rica is the best in global environmental standards. Telangana state would like to explore oil farm cultivation in partnership with Costa Rica. We wish to emulate them, he said.

Giving his grand keynote address, Mr.Gautam Adani Chairman, Adani Group said there is no vaccine for climate change. At least, pandemics like Covid 19 can be countered by vaccines. The Director-General of the World Health Organization summarized it well when he said there is no vaccine for climate change! The annual rate of increase in atmospheric CO2 emissions since 1970 is up almost 100 times. The search for sustainable solutions starts with admitting that the current situation is unsustainable, Mr. Gautam Adani said.

Therefore, the task before us is not just to find solutions to climate change, also to ensure — through science, policy, and technological development — that the principles of equitability are not ignored. Solutions should allow us to bridge the tradeoffs between economic, social, privacy, and environmental policies. A CO2 molecule released in the east is just as damaging to the west. A CO2 molecule released by the poor is just as damaging to the rich. A CO2 molecule released by the already-born is just as damaging to the soon-to-be-born.

As an entrepreneur, I stay optimistic. I believe that the Covid 19 pandemic has forced us to find the will to kickstart a massive ESG-driven economic transformation. I am also confident that the most viable climate change solutions will be digital, and technology-driven — supported by policies that help accelerate adoption. My optimism comes from the realization that the impact of the pandemic would have been far more terrible had the digital technologies of today been absent. This should be an indication of the opportunity before us, Mr, Gautam Adani said.

I also believe, Mr. Adani added, that this convergence of sustainability and digitization will establish new disruptive business models that will create the next set of unicorns. This is where organizations like TiE become essential — they enable collaboration across entrepreneurs and investors who see opportunities wherever intersections and friction exist. And the only way we can reduce the friction that sustainability generates in today’s businesses is through the intersection with technology.

Speaking about India, Mr. Gautam Adani said, last year when I spoke here, I had said that over the next three decades India will become a 28 trillion dollar economy. It is now expected that by 2050, India’s per capita income will expand from about one-thirtieth of that of the United States to one-third of the latter’s per capita income. That is an astonishing rise.

Also, in 2050, the median age of 1.6 billion Indians will still be just 38 years. The world will never again see a middle class as large as the one India will have – and that at such a peak consuming age. In addition, the digital acceleration in India is just beginning and will create a tailwind not yet factored into the assumed 8% nominal growth rate. I fundamentally believe the Indian economy is still to hit its inflexion point of decades of double-digit growth. Therefore, I now think I may have understated my 2050 GDP projection of $28 trillion. Also, given the sheer growth in end consumption rates, I expect India to become the world’s top target destination for an immense quantum of FDI over this period, making the tailwind even stronger.

Let me discuss the specific opportunities around sustainability and drill down to where I see the biggest near-term possibility, Mr. Gautam Adani said. At the upcoming COP 26 summit in Glasgow in November, the world’s most powerful countries will lay the foundation for a series of global policy changes. I believe these will be transformational and will accelerate the economic opportunities arising out of the global effort to combat climate change. As technologies evolve rapidly, these opportunities will equate to trillions of dollars of investments he said.

These will include next-generation high-efficiency solar panels, low carbon materials that make the largest offshore wind turbines affordable, mainstreaming of carbon capture technologies, various fit-for-purpose battery technologies, algorithm-driven smarter and distributed grids, electric mobility, and hydrogen-related technologies.

Of all these technologies, today, solar is the fastest-growing source of power. Over the past decade, the price of solar panels has dropped by 90% and possibly over the next decade we will see price drops of the same magnitude as panels become even more efficient and new materials come into play. The fact is that the marginal cost of solar power is moving towards “zero” and this is both transformative and disruptive.

However, as always, it is the “combination” or “intersection” of technologies that create disruptive business models. The combination which I believe is a game-changing model for sustainability is that of solar generation and hydrogen production! It is fascinating that a pHoton can travel 90 million miles in 9 minutes to hit a piece of silicon on Earth. This in turn generates an electron to split an H2O molecule leading to the release of a proton — or what we call a Hydrogen atom — and now seen as the ultimate source of dense green energy. Our Earth receives enough photons every hour to meet our global energy needs for an entire year.

The ability of this almost “zero” cost electron to economically split an H2O molecule and create 100% green hydrogen in the future is a near certainty. Hydrogen is the trigger for the smarter use of other renewables by becoming the long-term transport and distributed storage solution for electricity. It is the key link in the energy transition journey that, along with wind and solar, will stabilize decentralized power generation. For India, decentralized power generation is a massive game-changer — especially for the rural population.

While these scenarios emerge, the Adani Group is not sitting still. We are tripling our solar power generation capacity over the next four years. This is a rate of growth currently unmatched by any other company anywhere on the planet. Our Renewables Portfolio has reached the initial target of 25GW a full four years ahead of schedule. Today, we are already the world’s largest solar power player. This puts us well on track to be the world’s largest renewable power generating company by 2030.

Also, over the next decade, we will invest over 20 billion dollars in renewable energy generation. Our overall organic and inorganic investments across the entire green energy value chain will range between 50 and 70 billion dollars. This will include investments with potential partners for electrolyzer manufacturing, backward integrations to secure the supply chain for our solar and wind generation businesses, and AI-based industrial cloud platforms.

We are confident that our integrated value chain, our scale, and our experience puts us on the road to be the producer of the least expensive green electron anywhere in the world. This advantage opens several new pathways for us including setting us up to be one of the largest green hydrogen producers in the world, thereby opening up additional possibilities to be a partner of choice for several other industrial businesses.

To wrap up his keynote he gave a message. A few research studies indicate that the Indus Valley civilization underwent a period of climate change about 4,000 years ago. The outcome then appears to be uncertain. However, today, we are aware of the effects of climate change and hence the outcome should not be uncertain. What we need is the will — and who better than “The Indus Entrepreneurs” to enable this will. The TiE platform is unmatched in scale, and it must take the responsibility to trigger a movement that brings together an ecosystem of entrepreneurs and investors that work together to build equitable solutions for a sustainable world.

H.E. Dr. Claudio Ansorena, Ambassador, Republic of Costa Rica said Costa Rica is the leader in Sustainable Environmental Issues. We are a small nation. India is 55 times bigger than you. But our shared values are common such as democracy, peace, sustainability, and the environment. We are proud partners for the summit and we will contribute as much as we can. We embarked on our journey of sustainability as early as 1970.99% of energy consumption is renewable energy. Our forest cover rose from 26% in the 1980s and has now gone up to 59%. He has also listed out some of the most initiatives that Costa Rica launched in the pursuit of the sustainability goals.

The planet is heating up, glaciers are melting. Sea levels are increasing. We need a global attempt to save our planet. It is not the failure of the environment but the morals of the society, he said.

In a video message Nikki Haley, Former US Ambassador to the UN said private enterprises are capable of many solutions.

Mrs. RonyYedidiaClein, Deputy Chief of Mission of Israel;  Ms. VeredMivtzari, EM Director, Startup Nation Central (SNC), Israel and others also addressed the occasion.

TiE Hyderabad and TiE Israel have entered in to a MoU to foster more business collaborations.

Welcoming the gathering Mr Manohar Reddy, Chair of TSS 2021 and President of TiE Hyderabad said Sustainability is the new oil and offers a lot of opportunities The summit has partnered with Israel and Costa Rica to build a better future. While the whole world is discussing sustainability, we have already started acting, he said. While explaining why this summit he said, we need to meet our needs of natural resources, without compromising and affecting the needs of future generations. With that thought in mind the conference was conceptualized, Mr. Manohar Reddy explained.

Speaking on the occasion Mr.Mahaveer Pratap Sharma, Co-Chair of TSS 2021 said TiE is always ahead of its time. It has been working at the bottom pyramid of the chain. It has impacted the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country. Mr. Suresh Raju, Conference Co-Chair of TSS 2021 we are trying our best through this summit to bring in the best possible entrepreneurial spirit into sustainability.

TiE announced TSS Social Enterprise Awards aimed at recognizing social enterprises worldwide. These awards will be a regular feature and will give on a concluding day. TiE, Hyderabad will be rolling out a $200 Mn to $300 Mn Social Impact Fund, he said.

The TSS Social Enterprise Awards supported by Adani Group will recognize social enterprises that are creating a deep and tangible impact on society, communities, animals, nature and the planet through innovative business processes and technologies while pursuing the sustainable development goals (SDGs) defined by United Nations including affordable and clean energy, agriculture, clean water and sanitation, climate change, education, healthcare, life on land, life underwater, livelihoods, poverty among others.

We are proud to have launched this initiative to recognize the thankless work by social enterprises and entrepreneurs who work towards the betterment of society, build innovative technology solutions, tread on the uncharted path to solve societal problems such as healthcare, water, livelihoods, poverty, education, agriculture etc. The TSS Social Enterprise Awards winners will be the future leaders of the country in the social impact space, added Mr. Manohar Reddy.

TiE also announced an initiative to give a fillip to Rural Innovations, they have also announced Rs. 15crore grant money to support the initiative. A significant amount of this fund is already tied up Mr. Suresh Raju and Mr. Kaliprasad announced. These funds will be deployed in rural areas they added.
